Ksatria! Feeling Most Responsible, Gerardo Martino Chooses Not To Continue Working As A Coach For The Mexican National Team

JAKARTA - The Mexican national team was eliminated in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia in the last match of Group C was not enough to lead them to the round of 16.

The victory left Mexico with the same points as Poland in second place. However, they had to be eliminated after losing goal difference to Poland.

Ironically, Poland actually conceded two goals and lost 0-2 to Argentina in the last match of Group C. However, that was not able to be used by Mexico.

This failure earned coach Gerardo Martino the nickname "criminal" in Mexico.

Martino called himself the most haramly responsible for Mexico's great failure at the World Cup. He also stated that he would no longer occupy his position in the Mexican national team.

"I can't tell you anything about people's opinions. I (the main person) is responsible for the frustration we are experiencing. I am responsible and it is an extraordinary source of sadness," Martino said, as reported by Livescore.

"I take all the responsibility for this great failure. It's been eight World Cups and this hasn't happened yet."

"I have no reason at this time to think the future should be different. The contract ends with the final whistle and nothing else has to be done," he concluded.

Meanwhile, players also feel very responsible for this failure. The players were unable to meet the coach's expectations on the pitch.
