Lily Allen Speaks Out After Her Concert Criticized for Being Too Short

JAKARTA - English singer and songwriter Lily Allen has finally spoken out after receiving sharp criticism from the audience regarding the duration of her tour, Lily Allen Performs West End Girl, which was considered too short despite the ticket being expensive.

The criticism came after one of the audience who attended his concert at the O2 Arena, London, complained about the ticket price of 86 pounds (about Rp1.8 million) for a seat in the top area.

The audience regretted Allen's performance lasting less than an hour without any direct interaction or communication with the audience throughout the event.

Responding to the complaints that went viral on social media, the 41-year-old soloist immediately provided clarification to straighten out public perceptions.

Allen emphasized that he had no intention of lying or disappointing his loyal fans through the theatrical format he carried this time.

"This show has always been advertised as 'Lily Allen performs West End Girl'. The duration of the concert is only one hour because it only brings the album as a whole," said Lily Allen, quoting the description of the upload on his social media, Wednesday, July 1.

Allen explained that the decision not to speak to the audience while on stage was a mature artistic choice. According to him, the concept was deliberately applied in order to maintain the integrity of the storyline of his new album which is themed on heartbreak.

"I don't want anyone to feel slighted. Everyone on this tour has really worked very hard to give the best show we can, and I'm really proud of this result," he added.

For information, Allen's latest album titled *West End Girl* was officially released in October 2025 and successfully ranked second in the UK album charts.

The concert tour which combines the art of music and stage theater is scheduled to continue until November with a visit to a number of large arenas in Europe, North America, and Oceania.
