Waiting For Sandy Walsh's Action With The Indonesian National Team After Getting 'Restu' From FIFA

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team can certainly be strengthened by naturalized player Sandy Walsh. While Jordi Amat is just waiting for time.

Sandy was able to defend the Garuda Squad after FIFA officially accepted the transfer of the player's federation. The FIFA decision was also stated in a letter numbered Ref FPSD-8308 and signed by Erika Montemor as FIFA Head of Player's Status.

With this FIFA decision, Sandy, who was previously a Dutch citizen, can be fielded by the Indonesian national team in the 2022 AFF Cup.

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan welcomed this news. He also hopes that the presence of the player from the KV Mechelen club can strengthen Shin Tae-yong's team.

"We hope he can increase the strength of the Indonesian national team in the 2022 AFF Cup and the upcoming Asian Cup," said Iriawan on PSSI's official website, Tuesday, November 29 evening WIB.

Iriawan then revealed that currently the process of moving Jordi Amat is just a matter of time. He said PSSI was still waiting for a decision from FIFA.

"We are optimistic that in the near future FIFA will make a decision regarding the transfer of the Jordi Amat federation," said the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule.

As is known, Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat officially became Indonesian citizens on 17 November after taking the oath. In addition, both of them already have an Indonesian identity card (KTP) and passport.
