JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali admitted that he is still communicating with various parties to find certainty when professional football leagues can roll on again after being suspended following the Kajuruhan Tragedy.

"I communicated how the clubs got confirmation when this league would resume, they are waiting for that," Amali told the media crew at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Youth and Sports considered that it was natural that the certainty was obtained by the clubs, considering that they also still spend operational costs every day.

"The club also costs every day, pays players, coaches, and so on. We have to give certainty," he said.

The temporary suspension of professional soccer competitions Liga 1, 2, and 3 was the result of the inaugural meeting of the Independent Fact Finding Joint Team (TGIPF) of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy on Tuesday (4/10), where the Menpora sat as Deputy Team Chair.

Previously, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of Liga 1 and 2 issued a letter dated October 3, 2022 which stated that Liga 1 was stopped indefinitely, while Liga 2 was suspended for two weeks since the letter was issued.

PSSI has not issued an official statement regarding the recommendations for the results of the first TGIPF meeting on the Kanjuruhan Tragedy.

However, a number of PSSI Provincial/City/Regency Associations have taken the initiative to follow TGIPF's directives regarding the termination of professional football competitions.

For example, the PSSI Provincial Association (Asprov) East Java stopped activities in the East Java League 3 and Soeratin Cup which took place at the City/Regency Association in East Java.

A number of clubs have voiced requests for certainty regarding the continuation of professional competitions, one of which is Semen Padang FC.

The CEO of the West League 2 Indonesian club, Win Bernardino, emphasized that his party needed confirmation of the schedule, because so far they have just received an official letter of suspension of the competition based on a LIB letter.
