JAKARTA - Evander Holyfield challenges Mike Tyson to return to the ring and immediately signs a contract for his trilogy duel to end the competition between the former world heavyweight champions.

Holyfield's challenge was triggered after Tyson appeared to dominate against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition fight at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, November 28 which ended in a draw.

"No more excuses. This is a fight that must happen for both of our legacy (battles), "Holyfield said quoted Antara from Reuters on Wednesday.

"Saturday night (last), you said you were ready to fight me, so immediately sign the contract and get back into the ring," he added.

“The world is waiting, and (the decision) is now yours. I am ready."

In his prime, the rivalry of Tyson and Holyfield, now 58 years old, was one of the hottest in boxing.

They met twice. At the first meeting that took place in 1996, Holyfield won the battle by TKO in the 11th round. Meanwhile, the second fight in 1997 ended in a controversial duel when Tyson bit his opponent's ear.

Tyson was disqualified and was banned from fighting until he was fined money.

When Tyson said earlier this year he was preparing to return to the ring for a charity bout, Holyfield actually volunteered to step forward, but promoters chose Jones Jr. instead.

“Roy Jones Jr is a pretty good local class opponent for Mike. But my matches will be world-class, ”said Holyfield.

“What everyone is waiting for the most is our meeting. So there isn't any reason that can prevent this duel. ”
