Observers Say All Elements Of Football Must Be Refreshed Every Game

JAKARTA - Soccer observer Yusuf Kurniawan said that all elements in the sport of football must be refreshed every time a match rolls on.

Even before the competition starts, said the man who is familiarly called Bung Yuke, there must be socialization of new or old regulations to all stakeholders, including the organizing committee and supporters.

"Every season is about to start, the campaign must be comprehensive and integrated. Don't let the match just be a refreshment for the referee," Yuke told Antara, quoted on Monday.

"The introduction of new regulations and others must also be conveyed to all parties by setting up camps, including for the organizing committee, supporters," he continued.

In addition, it is necessary to increase human resources (HR) starting from match commissioners, general coordinators, to security officers.

"Everything must be honest and open. Then there is also a division that controls or checks everything. The supervisory function must be improved and follow the SOP," said Yuke.

From Yuke's point of view, the Kanjuruhan tragedy after the Arema FC versus Persebaya Surabaya match on October 1, which killed more than a hundred people, was due to a lack of coordination between security officers, Panpel, and the police.

In fact, continued Yuke, the organization of football matches has detailed regulations in the FIFA Stadium Safety and Security Regulations.

"But the enforcement is not so optimal. There is no one to control and supervise. So implementation and human resources are the key so that the Kanjuruhan Tragedy does not repeat itself," said Yuke.
