The Indonesian National Team Is Increasingly Patented And Promised, PSSI Will Extend Shin Tae-yong's Contract

JAKARTA - PSSI seems satisfied with Shin Tae-yong's performance as the coach of the Indonesian national team. The parent of the Indonesian football organization also plans to extend Shin's contract.

The South Korean coach's contract will actually expire after the end of the U-20 World Cup in 2023. However, PSSI is ready to give a new contract.

PSSI sees Shin being able to change the Garuda Squad game for the better. Most recently, he led the Indonesian national team to beat the much better-ranked Curacao in FIFA.

Previously, the South Korean coach successfully led the U-19 Indonesia team to the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup finals in Uzbekistan.

"I, as the General Chair of PSSI and of course, have coordinated with Exco to extend Shin Tae-yong's contract. We also see everywhere the pressure from netizens so that STY's extension will also strengthen," said PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan.

"On that basis, of course, apart from seeing the team's performance, PSSI will extend the contract in question. For how many years the contract has been extended, we will discuss it further," he continued.

Previously, Iriawan also admitted that the Indonesian national team was increasingly patented and promising. The compliment was made when the Garuda Squad won 3-2 over Curacao at the Bandung Stadium, Sea of Fire, last Saturday.

"This team continues to grow. Good. Good. I want the national team to win again in the second match," he said.
