A Number Of Athletes Related To Doping, Bodybuilding Is Competed In The 2024 PON With Customic Conditions

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central National Sports Committee (KONI) Marciano Norman announced that the official bodybuilding will be competed at the XXI/2024 National Sports Week (PON) Aceh-North Sumatra (North Sumatra) with strict requirements.

This decision was taken through the 2022 KONI National Working Meeting (Rakernas) with representatives of 34 Provincial KONI, 70 sports parent, 6 functional organizations, and the Head of the Youth and Sports Service (Kadispora) which officially ended on Tuesday.

"We have sat down together, we agreed, and decided to compete in the 2024 PON with strict conditions," Marciano said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

The previous sport sparked debate as several athletes from this branch were associated with doping.

This is contrary to the campaign that the Central KONI continues to carry out, namely, "Prestance Without Doping". But keep in mind, said Marciano, those who use doping are individuals so that those who should receive sanctions are these individuals.

"If there are athletes who are still doping, athletes and their coaches will be sanctioned for life, they cannot compete bodybuilding," said Marciano.

Later, participants from bodybuilding will carry out a strict doping test. "I ask the General Chairperson of the Central Executive of the Indonesian Fitness Body Association (PP PBFI) to take advantage of this opportunity to consolidate his organization," Marciano said.

If there are still many who use doping, the sanctions will be greater. "Because one of the other sanctions is that if doping cases still occur, we will relegate this bodybuilding organization from the membership of KONI," said Marciano.

At the 2022 KONI National Working Meeting, a video of two Indonesian bodybuilding athletes who excel internationally, Fen Fen or Nilawaty Law, who won gold Women's Physique Model a few months ago at the 2022 Asian Development and Fitness Championships in Maldives.

There is also Ricky Daud, a male bodybuilding athlete who won the 2016 Hong Kong WBPF Open.

They are proof that Indonesia is able to have international athletes who excel without doping. Both were declared outstanding after passing the doping test.
