JAKARTA - Antonio Rudiger joined Real Madrid on a free transfer in June 2022, after completing his contract at Chelsea.

The German declined an offer of a contract extension from Chelsea and several offers from top European clubs for the Los Blancos uniform.

Now, Saif Rubie, Rudiger's agent, has revealed that the value of Real Madrid's offer to players is the smallest financially.

"Let me confirm this, live broadcast, Real Madrid's deal is the smallest deal offered," he told talkSPORT.

"There are clubs in the UK that offer almost double the number and clubs in Europe double the number.

"I'm not going to go into specifics. Everyone knows there's a team interested in this player. He's one of the best in the world."

Rubie also explained how the old regime at Chelsea was not trying hard to keep the German defender, although his quality was unquestionable.

"What if I told you Chelsea, and the old regime, basically there was almost no attempt to keep these players," he said.

"At that time he was very happy to stay and have the potential to captain the club.

"He was offered a contract with a value of half of the amount obtained by Romelu Lukaku."
