Repsol Honda Boss Describes How Important Marc Marquez Was To The Development Of The RC213V

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda manager, Alberto Puig, really hopes that Marc Marquez can take part in the MotoGP test at Misano, next September. Currently, Marquez is still undergoing the recovery process.

According to Puig, Marquez's presence to undergo a test at Misano was very important to provide input to the technical team in the development of the RC213V.

Puig did not expect the Spaniard to be able to race. "But if he can come to the test, even if he doesn't do 100 laps but just a few chances and give some input, that will be very important," Puig told DAZN, as reported by Antara.

In fact, Puig described the importance of Marquez's presence at Misano. He said Honda would go "a little bit blind" if the driver was ultimately unable to take part.

"Some time ago we had to rely a little bit on Pol Espargaro and then on the test riders. But surely the one who knows this bike best is from his experience...Marc knows this bike very well because he has won many races," said Puig.

"It's not that the other riders don't understand this bike, don't get me wrong, of course they understand, but one who understands it very well is that he has won more with that bike and knows it."

"If he wasn't at Misano it wouldn't be an excuse, but it would make our job a little bit more difficult."

Marc Marquez himself will undergo a medical check-up and CT scan on August 25-26. If he gets the green light, Marquez can continue his injury recovery program to the next stage.

"We'll see how the bones are when the CT transfer is complete," said Puig.
