Marc Marquez Has Decided When To Return To The MotoGP Track

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez has made plans to return to the MotoGP track after a long absence due to injury. The Repsol Honda racer has predicted the right time to return to asphalt.

Marquez had to be absent from the race due to undergoing humerus surgery in the United States in April 2022. The recovery process takes a long time.

Now Marquez's condition has improved and only needs to train his humerus strength. Marquez is also confident that he can compete in the last two MotoGP 2022 series.

"My target, as well as a realistic time, for a race comeback is before the end of the 2022 MotoGP season. Maybe in the last two races or only in Valencia," said Marquez quoted by Speedweek.

The last two MotoGP 2022 races will be held in Malaysia on 23 October and Valencia on 6 November.

"Before riding a motorcycle next season, I have to race at least once this season," said the six-time MotoGP world champion.

Marquez last raced on May 29. At that time, he was riding a Honda RC213V motorbike in the Italian MotoGP.

During his absence, Marquez apparently continued to monitor developments on the track, including the competition for the 2022 MotoGP world title. He then predicted that Francesco Bagnaia would be Fabio Quartararo's main rival this season, not Aleix Espargaro.

"(Francesco) Bagnaia will be a key rider in the race for the world title. (Fabio) Quartararo needs some help from Yamaha. He is super fast, but against other riders without having good speed on the straights it will be very difficult," said Marquez predicts.

Marquez also evaluates his team's performance. He said Honda needed to make significant changes so that the RC213V could be competitive for the 2023 MotoGP.

"We have to change something in the team and in the motorcycle in order to be competitive next season," suggested Marc Marquez.
