Raheem Sterling Will Leave For Chelsea With A Transfer Of IDR 900 billion

JAKARTA - Chelsea has reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Raheem Sterling.

The England national team winger was brought in for a transfer fee of 50 million pounds, equivalent to Rp900 billion. Sterling will get a five-year contract and an option for a one-year extension from the Blues.

BBB Sport reports that Sterling is only required to complete a medical before a deal to join the London club is announced.

The 27-year-old actually has one year left on his contract with City. However, he wants to leave the Etihad so many big clubs are eyeing him.

City signed Sterling from Liverpool in a £49 million deal in 2015. During his time at City he scored 131 goals in 339 games.

Since Pep Guardiola became City manager in 2016, only Sergio Aguero (124) has scored more goals for City than Sterling (120).

Sterling scored 13 goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season when. But his chances were limited by the signing of Jack Grealish last summer.

Opportunities to fill City's front line are getting smaller with the signings of strikers Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez this summer.

Raheem Sterling was on the bench for both legs of last season's European Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. He also came on the bench in the final match of the season against Aston Villa.

If a deal is announced then Sterling will be Chelsea's first major signing since they were taken over by a consortium led by Todd Boehly this summer.

A deal may be announced in the near future so Sterling could be in the Chelsea squad before they depart for their pre-season tour of the United States next week.

The arrival of Raheem Sterling certainly strengthens Chelsea's attack line after the departure of Romelu Lukaku, who moved to Inter Milan on a season-long loan.
