PSSI Claims Shin Tae-Yong Sent A Letter Asking For Jordi's Naturalization To Be Continued

JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, asked PSSI to continue the Jordi Amat naturalization process. The South Korean coach even wrote a letter to the General Chairperson of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan regarding the naturalization.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi. He said Shin had sent a letter as of June 30.

"Yes, STY (Shin Tae-yong) wrote a letter on June 30, 2022. The point is that the naturalization process is requested to continue," said PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi on the federation's official website.

The PSSI Secretary General said the Ketum had ordered that Jordi Amat's naturalization process be continued according to Shin Tae-yong's request.

"We as a federation and of course the direction from the general chairman will continue (naturalization). Because the naturalization of three senior players including Jordi is STY's wish," added Yunus Nusi.

Yunus Nusi continued, PSSI as a federation has committed to give full support to the coach regarding the progress of the national team. For this reason, Yunus Nusi representing PSSI also hopes that the naturalization process can be completed soon so that it can add strength to the Indonesian national team.

"PSSI will support all the wishes of the coach, including conducting training camps anywhere," he said.

"PSSI and STY hope that the naturalization process will be completed soon," said Yunus Nusi.

Previously, Jordi Amat's naturalization process sparked a polemic because the player who had previously strengthened for a European club, KAS Eupen, chose to have a career in Asia. In addition, Jordi Amat chose to defend a club from Malaysia, Johor Darul Takzim (JDT).
