The Continuing Polemic Of Jordi Amat's Naturalization Who Now Chooses To Defend The Malaysian Club, Indra Sjafri: Still In Discussion With STY

JAKARTA - PSSI's Technical Director, Indra Sjafri, responded to the controversy over the continuation of Jordi Amat's naturalization, who is now defending Malaysian club Johor Darul Takzim (JDT). According to Indra Sjafri, whether or not the player's naturalization process will continue to be discussed with the head coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong.

"All the naturalized players have their names submitted to PSSI officially and signed by Shin Tae-yong," said Indra Sjafri when contacted by VOI.

"Including this (naturalization decision) whether to continue or not, I had discussions (with the coach) exactly what I said," he continued.

The controversy over the continuation of Jordi Amat's naturalization began when the player officially announced that he had strengthened JDT. The decision then triggered pro and con responses from Indonesian football lovers.

Not a few fans did not accept it when Jordi Amat decided to join JDT. Because, they risk the performance of the Spanish player to decline after joining a Southeast Asian club.

Whereas before this, Jordi Amat spent a lot of his career defending European clubs such as Espanyol, Real Betis, and Swansea City. Even before joining JDT, Jordi Amat was part of a Belgian club, KAS Eupen.
