Upset With Eddie Hearn's Bragging About The Canelo Vs Golovkin III Duel, CEO Of Mayweather Promotions: Ancient Tactics

JAKARTA - Eddie Hearn angered the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe with his comments about Canelo vs Golovkin III. He said his client's fight was better than the one promoted by Ellerbe.

Hearn said the third bout between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin was "ten times bigger" than the boxing match between Errol Spence vs Crawford.

Hearn, in fact, wasn't lying about the status of the third volume of Canelo and Golovkin's duel. Both are names that stand out more than Spence and Crawford.

However, Hearn overreacted by describing the fight as "ten times bigger" than the undisputed welterweight fight.

Canelo is the biggest name in boxing. He has the most popular fan base in boxing in the biggest markets, the United States and Mexico. Nevertheless, the comments made by Hearn offended Ellerbe.

"He's just trying to draw attention to a fight that nobody cares about. It's an ancient tactic at play, and he doesn't realize that nobody in the US cares, lol," Ellerbe was quoted as saying by Marca, Monday.

"This is true in the UK but not in the US," Ellerbe responded to Hearn's criticism.

After Ellerbe posted his comments on social media, it was Canelo's turn to be offended. Some social media users posted:

"I don't want to take sides, but I don't agree with the massive fight in Saudi Arabia," said one.

"Does anyone care about Ellerbe's fight? Nothing."

Spence Jr and Crawford will battle after the third meeting between Canelo and GGG who will meet in the ring on September 17 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
