Indonesia Masters 2022: Apriyani/Siti Overthrow Dutch Representatives In The First Round

JAKARTA- Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva managed to record good results in the first round of the Indonesia Masters 2022. In the match that took place at Istora Senayan, Tuesday night, the Indonesian women's doubles pair succeeded in overthrowing the Dutch representative, Debora Jille/Cheryl Seinen with a score of 21-12 and 21-9.

At the beginning of the first game, Debora Jille/Cheryl Seinen kept pressing Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva. The Dutch women's doubles stuck to the host's points without mercy. However, some mistakes they made made the advantage in the first interval in favor of Apriyani/Siti with a score of 11-9.

After the halftime break, Apriyani/Siti tried to extend their lead because Debora/Cheryl failed to return the ball several times. After going through a long rally, Apriyani/Siti re-locked the number 15-10.

Approaching the final points, the goddess of fortune began to side with Debora/Cheryl because their hard smash failed to be denied by Apriyani/Siti. However, it did not last long because the netting by Debora/Cheryl jutsu became the deciding point for Indonesia to lead 21-12 in the first game.

The second game opened with an advantage for Debora / Cheryl because Apriyani / Siti were less focused on returning the ball. However, in order to make up for the missed points, Apriyani/Siti were able to catch up with the points by winning 7-5 and continued until the second interval was closed again with an 11-6 win for Apriyani/Siti.

The second game continued with a 24 stroke rally which then added Apriyani/Siti's points, this moment made the women's doubles Olympic champion appear even more fierce. The top balls that Apriyani/Siti continued to present made the opponent dizzy and left with 7-17 points.

With the remaining crucial points, Apriyani/Siti successfully closed the 36-minute match with a 21-9 victory. This result also brought Apriyani / Siti to the second round and will face representatives from Malaysia, Vivian Hoo / Lim Chiew Sien.
