JAKARTA - Roman Abramovich's status as owner of Chelsea ended on Monday after the club's takeover was finally completed.

After buying the Blues in 2003, Abramovich was forced to sell them after being sanctioned by the British government for his relationship with Vladimir Putin following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

A consortium fronted by Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly is the new owner of the Premier League giants. Now, Abramovich started his new life.

Where does she live

Thanks to his considerable fortune, Abramovich has built an impressive property portfolio with several UK homes believed to be worth a total of £200 million. He also owns properties in France, Russia, the United States and the Caribbean.

In 2009, Abramovich purchased the 15-bedroom Kensington mansion for £90 million. The property is now valued at £150 million.

However, the sanctions Abramovich received affected his ownership of the mansion. The cleaners are not even[allowed to enter this property.

He also reportedly failed to pay Queen Elizabeth II a £10,000 rent for the land on which the house was built after being sanctioned by the British government.

Apart from the mansion, Abramovich also owns a £22 million penthouse on the Thames and a west London flat which he bought for £8.75 million.

New football club?

Since receiving sanctions that forced him to sell Chelsea, Abramovich has often been linked with new football clubs. Back in March, he was reported to have been in talks to buy Turkish Super Lig club Goztepe.

During its 96 years of existence, the club has had very minimal achievements. However, they are competing in one of football's fiercest derbies against local rivals Karsiyaka.

However, Goztepe denied having a deal with Abramovich and the club were relegated this season, ending their five-year stay in Turkey's top flight. So, it remains to be seen what Abramovich's next club will be if he returns to play in the sport.

Current net worth

Abramovich's net worth took a serious hit after he was sanctioned as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine earlier this year.

Recently, the Sunday Times Rich List put Abramovich in the 28th position in the list of the richest people in the UK with a fortune of 6 billion pounds. Down 22 places from 2021, when he was ranked sixth.

His net worth is also understood to have fallen by more than half, where last year the 55-year-old had £12.2 billion.
