Calling Many Clubs Offering To Join, Hamka Hamzah: It's Live From Me Whether You Want It Or Not

JAKARTA - After officially saying goodbye to Rans Cilegon FC, Hamka Hamzah is now in a clubless status ahead of the 2022/2023 Liga 1 rollout. Although he has not yet revealed which club he will join, the former Indonesian national team player does not deny that many offers have come.

Hamka admitted that the offer was not only from the highest caste club, Liga 1. However, a number of clubs in League 2 also made an offer to him to join as a player or even as a staff off the field.

"There are several League 1 and League 2 teams. There are also (offers) in League 2 to become managers and players as well," said Hamka when met in the South Jakarta area, Monday, May 30.

Despite admitting that many offers have come to him, Hamka is still reluctant to divulge which club he will play for. The 38-year-old footballer said he was still considering carefully before making a decision.

"I don't know yet, it's still a negotiation," said Hamka, laughing when asked which club to choose.

However, Hamka seems to be more inclined to defend League 1 clubs. He said, there are clubs that have volunteered but are still waiting for their consideration to make a choice.

"(To play again) Liga 1, it's up to me whether you want to or not (accept the offer)," said Hamka.

Before finally being without a club, Hamka was part of Raffi Ahmad's Rans Cilegon FC. He joined on April 23, 2021 and decided to leave on February 7, 2022.

Hamka said goodbye to Rans Cilegon FC because his contract with the club had ended. But besides that, he said goodbye because he had intended to retire because his condition was not perfect due to an ACL injury.
