2-1 Win Over PSM Makassar Thanks To Carlos Fortes' Decisive Goal, PSIS Semarang Players' Physical Appearance Is In The Spotlight

SEMARANG - PSIS Semarang won 2-1 over PSM Makassar in a test match at the Jatidiri Stadium, Saturday, May 28. In this match, PSIS's winning goal was scored by their new player, Carlos Fortes.

Fortes, who had just entered in the second half, managed to receive a pass from Taisei Marukawa, another new foreign player owned by PSIS Semarang.

Previously, the two teams drew 1-1 in the first half. PSM Makassar took the lead in the 18th minute through Akbar Tanjung's goal. PSIS Semarang then equalized 1-1 after PSM defender, Safrudin Tahar, actually anticipated the ball wrong.

PSIS Semarang assistant coach, Achmad Rezal Octavian, said that there was an increase in performance compared to the previous test match against Arema FC. However, the physical improvement of players is still a chore to do.

"Evaluating the physical issue, many are physically oversized," he said, as quoted by Antara, after the match.

Meanwhile, PSM Makassar coach Bernardo Tavares said he was satisfied with his team's game. However, he assessed that his team still needed experienced players to navigate the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1.

"Good match, good facilities. Congratulations on the win, even though this is a friendly match," he said.
