After 3 Months Of Absence, Ansu Fati Returns To The Barcelona Squad In The Match Against Mallorca

JAKARTA - Ansu Fati will return to the Barcelona squad after being absent for three months. The 19-year-old has recovered from a hamstring injury.

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed that Ansu Fati will be in the squad when his team hosts Mallorca in 2021/2022 La Liga continued on Monday, May 2 early tomorrow.

The squad for that match will be decided today and Ansu Fati is definitely on the list.

"Ansu (Fati) will be in the squad. We have seen great things with him. He feels good and has good sensations", Xavi said as quoted by Reuters on Sunday, May 1.

Ansu Fati has not played for Barcelona since coming on as a substitute in the Copa del Rey quarter-final loss to Athletic Bilbao on January 20. It was his tenth appearance this season.

Xavi said that over the past two weeks Ansu Fati has shown tremendous improvement. It's just that he is unlikely to be able to play throughout the match against Mallorca later.

"If everything goes well, he will play a few minutes. He is happy, he smiles and he is a player who can make the difference", said Xavi.

"It's a shame we haven't been able to play him for the past few months. I'm glad he's back. He's a special player and he will be good for us in the last five games", he continued.

Barcelona is certain to be without several important players in the match this morning. Among them are Pedri, Nico Gonzalez, Ousmane Dembele, Sergiño Dest, Sergi Roberto, Samuel Umtiti, and Martin Braithwaite.

This match is still important for Barcelona even though the La Liga title has been locked by Real Madrid. Xavi's squad is still chasing points to maintain their position in the top four as well as tickets to the European Champions League next season.

Currently, they are in third place with a collection of 63 points or one point behind Sevilla who are in the second position. The Blaugrana still has four games left after tonight's match.
