Johann Zarco Leads Marc Marquez In MotoGP In The United States: He Can Win At COTA Despite Racing With Only One Eye

JAKARTA – The French racer on the Pramac Ducati team, Johann Zarco, has supported Marc Marquez to win the United States MotoGP. The fourth series of the 2022 MotoGP race will be held at the American Circuit, Austin, Texas on April 10 or April 11 in the morning in Indonesia.

Marquez, who did not go down in the previous two racing series, has returned to speed in Austin. The Repsol Honda factory team rider missed Mandalika (20 March) and Argentina (4 April) due to injury. In the first series in Qatar on March 6, Marquez was ranked 5th with 11 points.

Marquez is the king of the American Circuit, which has the acronym COTA (Circuit of The Americas). The 29-year-old Spaniard has won the anticlockwise COTA race seven times, the race track is counterclockwise.

Since his American MotoGP debut at COTA in 2013, Marquez has always won. Not only that, he also always occupies the leading starting position. Marquez's riding style fits COTA's character as a fast circuit. Naturally, Zarco then favored it.

“This is a very physically challenging circuit. It is rare for a rider to be able to consistently maintain speed in all rounds. That's what makes me always hesitant to race here, especially if the physical condition is not really fit, "said Zarco as quoted by GPOne.

"The conditions are different with Marquez who fits COTA very well. In my opinion, he will still win here even if he races with only one point," said Zarco again.

The issue of visual impairment in the form of diplopia is whacking Marquez. The disturbance that caused the vision to become shadowed was obtained by Marquez after the accident in the free practice session at Mandalika. The injury kept him out of Mandalika and Argentina.

Marquez has not shown his true ability at COTA ahead of the American MotoGP. In free practice, he only finished 5th in FP1 and 6th in FP2.

From the qualifying results, Marc Marquez also only managed to place himself in the starting position of the 9th order of the United States MotoGP. But there is a saying: great riders win in races, not in practice.
