Indonesian Swimming Athletes Win 8 Gold Medals At The Swimming World Series Berlin

JAKARTA – Indonesia has successfully won eight gold medals from the Para Swimming World Series Berlin 2022. The Red and White Team has also succeeded in breaking three Asian records in the championship.

The Swimming World Series Berlin 2022 will take place from March 31 to April 3, 2022. In addition to winning gold, Indonesia also won four silver medals and one bronze medal, as reported by the NPC Indonesia Instagram account.

This extraordinary achievement was made by four Indonesian athletes. They are Jendi Pangabean, Maulana Rifky Yavianda, Fajar Hafiandani, and Mutiara Cantik Harsanto.

Jendi Pangabean who fell in the S9 category successfully brought home one gold medal and one silver medal. The gold medal was won in the 100 meter backstroke, while the silver he got from the 50 meter butterfly with a time of 28.50 seconds, which successfully broke the Asian record.

In addition, Jendi also successfully broke the Asian record in the 200 meter backstroke. However, in that number he failed to bag a medal.

Then, Maulana Rifky (S12) managed to get five gold medals, one silver, and broke one Asian record. The five gold medals were won in the 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m medley and 50m butterfly.

The silver medal was obtained from the 50 meter breaststroke. Meanwhile, he broke the Asian record while competing in the 50 meter backstroke.

Meanwhile, Fajar Hafiandani (AB) got four medals, two gold and two silver each. Two gold was pocketed from the 100 meters and 50 meters butterfly, while silver from the 100 meters backstroke and 100 meters freestyle.

One bronze medal for Indonesia was brought home by Mutiara Cantik Harsanto (AB). He recorded a time of 36.86 seconds in the 50 meter butterfly.
