Meaningful Message From Hendra Setiawan For Bagas/Fikri After Winning All England 2022

JAKARTA - An extraordinary performance was shown by a young Indonesian couple, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri at the All England 2022 event. Even though this was their debut at the All England, it did not prevent Bagas/Fikri from becoming champions.

It was a surprise that Bagas/Fikri defeated the world champions, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi in the quarter-finals through a three-game battle. Then in the semifinals, it was the turn of the world number one pair, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, who were eliminated.

In the final, Bagas/Fikri defeated their seniors, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan through a two-game direct battle. They won by a score of 21-19 and 21-13.

Hendra Setiawan welcomed Bagas/Fikri's success with a wise message. The senior Indonesian player asked Bagas/Fikri not to get involved in the joy of winning the All England 2022 title.

"Don't be happy for too long. There is still a long way to go. Focus and be consistent and it will all be good," said Hendra as reported by the Badminton Europe page.

Hendra said that he was not disappointed in failing to win the All England 2022. He and Ahsan were actually happy to be able to play in the final and admitted that Bagas/Fikri had the right to win because they performed better.

Hendra Setiawan revealed, their target after failing at the All England 2022. "We hope to do well at the World Championships," he continued.

Meanwhile, Ahsan congratulated the Bagas/Fikri couple. He hopes that his junior can appear consistent in the future.

"I don't want to talk about my injury. They deserved to win. We congratulate them and hope they can be consistent," Ahsan said on the BWF official website.
