JAKARTA – The team belonging to Valentino Rossi VR46 Racing Team looks excited to welcome the Mandalika MotoGP race. They seemed impatient to pave the circuit for the pride of Indonesia.

The impatience can be seen from the latest upload on their official Instagram account on Sunday, March 13 night. The post shows photos of two VR46 riders, namely Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi in the pre-season test last February against the backdrop of the stunning natural scenery of Mandalika.

"Can't wait to roar in heaven again," wrote the VR46 Racing Team.

The Mandalika MotoGP is a newcomer series in the 2022 MotoGP season calendar. This race at the Mandalika Circuit is the second series after the first series which took place at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar, on March 6.

Before holding the race, the Mandalika Circuit had already been used as a pre-season test between February 11-13. The race at the circuit located in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara will be held on March 20.

"We didn't expect that in just one more week we would have our first race in Indonesia," continued VR46 in Indonesian.

During the pre-season test last year, VR46 driver Luca Marini managed to get satisfactory results. He came out to be the fastest on the second day of testing on Saturday, March 12.

At that time, Marini carved a time of 1 minute 31.289 seconds. He was 0.192 seconds ahead of the Repsol Honda rider Marquez who was trailing in the second position.

Before flying to Mandalika, Marini and Bezzecchi were scheduled to stop by Jakarta first and meet President Joko Widodo. They then carried out a parade with Jokowi with a route of 5 kilometers around Central Jakarta.
