JAKARTA - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was in the spotlight as well as a topic of conversation when he headed to Barcelona's training ground at Ciutat Esportiva, Thursday, February 10 local time.

Aubameyang became the talk of the town not only because he was the first Barca player to arrive at the training ground, but also because of the car he drove. Quoted from the Daily Star, Tuesday, March 1, the striker from Gabon was in the spotlight for driving a spectacular Ferrari 488 GTB.

Known as a footballer who is rich in twists, the Ferrari 488 GTB is not the only super luxury car owned by Aubameyang. The 32-year-old athlete is also known to have a collection of luxury cars with a fantastic price tag.

In addition to the Ferrari GTB 488, Aubameyang is known to have a car of the same brand but with the LaFerrari type. In his garage are also parked four Lamborghinis with two types of Aventador and two Urus, a Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin DB9 and Range Rover Sport.

In an Instagram video in 2019, Aubameyang also showcased his Audi, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche cars. Regarding his collection of luxury cars, Aubameyang said that he started his collection in 2010, when he played for French club Lille.

Aubameyang's first car was an Audi TT which he got in 2019 but then he sold a few years later. Regarding the decision to sell his first car, Auba admitted that he regretted it and should have kept the unit.

“It was my favorite car and it was the first one I owned. I kept it for a long time, I regret selling it. I have also modified it by adding an R8 kit and butterfly wing doors,” he said.

After Audi was sold, Aubameyang became obsessed with owning a Lamborghini. His dream came true in just a short time. Unmitigated once to buy a dream car, Aubameyang first bought a Lamborghini Gallardo (the predecessor of the Huracan), then the Aventador LP 700-4, and the Aventador S Roadster, which is now his favorite sports car.

Regarding his penchant for collecting luxury cars, Aubameyang revealed that he inherited the hobby from his father - also a former Gabon footballer - who retired in 2002.

“When I was a kid, if I didn't play football, I played with the car, that's all. I inherited the spirit of my father, who at that time had a red Audi Quattro and was very beautiful,” he explained.

“Customization represents more than 50 percent (car parts). It's very important because that's what makes your personality stand out," Aubameyang said.

The Gabon international is known to be eye-catching on and off the pitch, which is why he also regularly makes appearances in his boldly colored cars. In fact, Aubameyang also has a car that is all coated in a striking gold color.

"I'm a creator on the pitch, but sometimes you also need to be a creator off the field," added Aubameyang.

"I used gold because I wanted to stand out, that's part of the customization."

Even though he already has a collection of luxury cars, Aubameyang still has an obsession with other cars. He said there were two other cars that entered his target.

"I don't think my collection is complete. There are two cars that I really like: the Pagani Zonda and the Koenigsegg. My goal is to have it in my collection."
