JAKARTA - Gloucester Rugby Club uses various methods to raise money. They launched a Valentine's Day calendar with nude photos of the players.
Launching the Daily Star, Wednesday, February 16, the English Premier League rugby team stripped themselves down at Kingsholm Stadium to deliver their version of Valentine's Day celebrations.
The daring stunt by players from the club, currently third in the league, took inspiration from Helen Mirren's 2003 classic The Calendar Girls.
It is the UK's first 13-month calendar, starting on 14 February 2022 and running until Valentine's Day 2023.
This nude stunt was designed to raise money for their charitable foundation, the Gloucester Rugby Foundation.
The goal is to engage, educate and inspire the local community to bring about positive social impact and new opportunities through sport. “We spend a lot of time working with our community to help make positive changes in the lives of young people in the area, but it all costs money, Lewis Ludlow, Cherry and Whites captain said.
"We wanted to make a big splash so we could help more people, and someone came up with the calendar idea."
