JAKARTA - Defending champions Leicester City were knocked out of the FA Cup after losing to Championship side Nottingham Forest 4-1, while non-league side Boreham Wood won 1-0 at second-tier club Bournemouth in Sunday's fourth-round clash.

Leicester's disappointing season hit a new low with the defeat at the City Ground, and now the glory they won last season's FA final by beating Chelsea is just a memory.

"It was a very bad performance. The team has been together for three years and I am seeing some worrying signs with some of the players," Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said as quoted by AFP.

Once at the bottom of the Championship when Steve Cooper took over as manager in September, Forest had been revitalized by the former Swansea boss and they crushed Leicester with three goals in nine first-half minutes.

Forest will face fellow Championship side Huddersfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

After moving up to eighth place in the Championship league, Forest are also chasing back a place in the Premier League for the first time since 1999.

"It's a brilliant day for everyone. We're trying to build something. I'm very happy for the players and proud of the club," said Cooper.

Forest opened the scoring with Philip Zinckernagel's 23rd-minute goal that was found by Keinan Davis, following a Brennan Johnson cross.

Just 24 seconds later, the Forest crowd was roaring again after his side hit again through Johnson following a mistake at Leicester's backline when Daniel Amartey tried to turn the ball to goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The goal prompted one of the angry Leicester fans to run onto the pitch and clash with several Forest players in a nasty incident where there was a beating before the fan was arrested.

In the 32nd minute, James Garner curled in a corner and Joe Worrall capitalized on a Leicester clearance error to get past Schmeichel.

Meanwhile in the 40th minute Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba made a mistake by rushing forward Kelechi Iheanacho to get past him and shoot the ball into the empty net.

In the second half Forest took the lead to 4-1 after Djed Spence swapped passes with Zinckernagel before providing a late finish to score in the 61st minute.

In the other fourth round match, Mark Ricketts' lone goal in the 38th minute sent Boreham Wood into the FA Cup fifth round for the first time with a 1-0 win over B side Bournemouth.

Boreham Wood, currently in fifth place in the National League, England's fifth tier, are the lowest-ranked team left in this FA Cup competition.

Boreham Wood will face Everton in the last 16 at Goodison Park.

"I'm on top of the world, the emotions right now are incredible. The boys are doing great," said Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard.

Jurgen Klopp meanwhile called the return of Harvey Elliott who scored in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Cardiff a "fairy tale" after five months out with a serious ankle injury.

Elliott came off the bench alongside new signing Luis Diaz after Diogo Jota's header opened the scoring early in the second half.

Diaz made an immediate impact by setting up Takumi Minamino to double Liverpool's lead at Anfield.

But the biggest cheer was for Elliott when he volleyed home the goal in the 76th minute.

Rubin Colwill pulled one back for Cardiff, but Liverpool will host Norwich in the last 16.

But Bournemouth, third in the Championship, paid the price for a lethargic display that showed they were prioritizing their push for promotion to the Premier League.
