2022 MotoGP Tires And Fuel For Pre-Season Tests Arrived In Mandalika

JAKARTA – The tires and fuel for the 2022 MotoGP team have arrived at the Mandalika Circuit. The logistics were brought in by sea for the pre-season test of the most prestigious motorcycle racing event.

The pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit is scheduled to take place on 11-13 February. Meanwhile, the race schedule will take place on March 18-20 after the first series which was held in Qatar.

"All tires and fuel for each of the racing team's vehicles have arrived by sea and currently some are at the Mandalika Circuit," said the Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) as quoted by ANTARA.

The motorcyclists and various other spare-part equipment are transported by air. Several planes will be used to carry equipment and motorbikes that will land directly at Lombok International Airport.

Until now, the organizers of the Mandalika MotoGP continue to prepare the layout of various containers that will be used as Dorna offices, media offices, for the placement of motorbikes and spare parts. The construction of various supporting facilities is also being accelerated.

The preparations that are being carried out by the MGPA include the construction of spectator stands, improvement of the main track, and preparation of human resources for the recruitment of marshals. Meanwhile, repairs to the track waterway system have been completed.

"When measurements and monitoring were carried out, it could be concluded that there were no puddles when there was more rain in the circuit area," said MGPA Technical and Operations Director Samsul Purba.

The repairs on the main track include painting some barrier areas according to the request of the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM), adding tire barriers at several locations, and installing digi flags.

MotoGP this season has held a total of 21 series or there are two additional series from last season. Indonesia is one of two new series on the calendar this season with Finland.
