JAKARTA - PSSI's efforts to immediately naturalize descendants of players, Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat will soon be realized. Had been paused because the second file had not been completed, now PSSI has delegated it to the Kemenpora.

Actually, Sandy and Jordi's documents needed to get Indonesian citizenship were sent last January 15, but there are still shortcomings so the process can't start yet.

Although there was a pause, the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) member assigned to take care of the naturalization process, Hasani Abdulgani, gave good news. He said that all Sandy and Jordi's documents were complete and immediately taken care of.

"Thank God they (Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat) completed the lack of documents last night at Indonesia time," Hasani said on his Instagram.

"Today the General Chairperson of PSSI immediately asked the PSSI legal team to send the files of the two players to the Minister of Youth and Sports. Please pray for and support that everything goes smoothly. Garuda is on my chest," he wrote explaining.

Sandy Walsh is a Belgian-born defender with a Dutch passport who is currently defending Mechelen. The 26-year-old player is said to have an Indonesian lineage from his mother's side.

Meanwhile, Jordi Amat is a 29-year-old centre-back who is currently defending the club Eupen. Jordi was born in Spain and has played for the Spanish youth team, from U-16 to U-21. He got the blood of Indonesian descent from his mother.

The two players are names that were submitted directly by the coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong. The South Korean coach deliberately asked for quality descendants to boost the Garuda squad's achievements.

Apart from Sandy and Jordi, Shin Tae-yong actually still proposed two more names for naturalization. The two players are Ragnar Oratmangoen and Mess Hilgers, but both are currently in talks as well.
