Official! Now Anthony Martial Is A Sevilla Player

JAKARTA - Spanish League club Sevilla has finally announced that they have officially signed Anthony Martial from Manchester United. This news was shared by Sevilla through their official website and social media on Wednesday, January 26.

"Sevilla FC and Manchester United FC have reached an agreement which sees Anthony Martial join the club on loan until the end of the season," Sevilla said in a statement.

"The club has completed a major signing and strengthened the choice of players up front, with the presence of players who can play as a striker or on both wings," the statement continued.

Officially joining Sevilla, Martial will be plotted to strengthen the front lines to help the team navigate the competition in the Spanish League. At his new club, Martial will wear the jersey number 22.

Before being introduced as a new Sevilla player, Martial first arrived at the club headquarters on Tuesday, January 25. The 26-year-old footballer came for a medical and was then introduced as a new Los Nervionenses player.

To be able to reach an agreement to bring Martial from Manchester United to Spain, Sevilla had to spend around 5 million pounds or equivalent to Rp. 96 billion. With this price tag, Sevilla can bring Martial on loan without a permanent purchase option.

Martial's presence in the team is expected to provide additional strength for Sevilla, who are competing in the race for the Spanish League title. Julen Lopetegui's squad is now competing with Real Madrid in the remaining 16 matches.

So far, Sevilla is in second place in the Spanish League standings with 46 points. Los Nervionenses are four points adrift of Madrid at the top.
