Australia Celebrates 18 Goals Against The Indonesian Women's National Team In The 2022 Women's Asian Cup

JAKARTA - The Indonesian women's national team had to accept a bitter defeat when they met Australia. The Garuda Pertiwi squad was beaten by 18 goals without reply.

They felt that defeat when they played the preliminary match in Group B of the 2022 Women's Asian Cup, at the Mumbai Football Arena, Mumbai, India, on Friday, January 21.

Indonesia was immediately under pressure from the opposing team since the first half whistle. Zahra Muzdalifah and friends had to see their goal conceded three goals in just 14 minutes.

The Indonesian goal became the target of the Kangaroo Country's ferocity after that. Australia captain Sam Kerr was dominant after breaking the deadlock as the game entered the ninth minute.

The player who strengthened the Chelsea women's team managed to add three more goals for his team.

Sam Kerr's four goals complemented goals from Caitlin Foord (13 minutes), Mary Fowler (17), Hayley Raso (24), Ellie Carpenter (34) and Emily van Egmond's penalty (39), to close the first half.

In the second half of the match, the Indonesian goal was again an easy target for The Matildas players. A total of nine goals back nestled.

Ellie Carpenter again became a scourge by bringing Australia 10-0 up early in the second half.

Sam Kerr then scored the eleventh goal in the 54th minute. Emily van Egmond added a goal in the 57th minute and netted the other two in the 58th and 69th minutes, respectively.

Kiah Simon also managed to score two goals to his name, Hayley Raso added one more goal, and Aivi Luik completed the goal celebration against Indonesia.

Indonesia will then face the remaining two matches in the group stage. They will face Thailand on Monday, January 24, followed by a match against the Philippines three days later.
