Hendra/Ahsan Become Runner Up At India Open 2022 After Being Beaten By The Host's Representative

JAKARTA - Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan did not manage to bring home the title from the 2022 India Open. The first seed fell in the hands of the host representatives, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.

Representatives of Indonesia gave up in this two-set match at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, India, on Sunday, January 16. The match which lasted for 43 minutes ended with the score, 21-16, 26-24.

The course of the first set directly controlled by representatives of India. They stole the first two points and led the representatives of Indonesia.

Hendra / Ahsan slowly rose and could equalize to 4-4. The two pairs took turns scoring points after that, but after the 7-7 position India's representatives continued to dream until the interval.

Behind two points at the interval did not make The Daddies give up. They managed to get back up and equalize again, 13-13, but after the 2019 world champion pair could not catch up with India's representatives again.

After the break, the host's representatives continued to excel and led to a 17-14 lead. A fierce duel occurred after the Indonesian pair equalized 17-17.

Hendra/Ahsan had a chance to live up to their hopes when they took a 20-19 lead over their opponent. Unfortunately they had to admit their opponent's advantage after that and were content to be runners up in this Super 500 level tournament.
