Regarding Persib's Defeat To Bali United, Rene Alberts: We Lost Our Focus

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung again swallowed the bitter pill in the 2021/2022 League 1 competition when they met Bali United. Maung Bandung troops fell 0-1 despite trying to appear dominant.

In the match which took place at the I Gusti Ngurah Stadium on Thursday, January 13, Persib tried to appear pressing. But their efforts were fruitless because they conceded in the final minutes of the first half.

The bitter thing is, the Maung Bandung goal was broken by Stefano Lilipaly who was later predicted to be their new recruit. Lilipaly successfully broke into Persib's goal after receiving feedback from Rizky Fajrin in the 38th minute.

Commenting on the game and seeing how his team looked on the pitch, Robert Rene Alberts admitted that the players played well. So he didn't think that the team would lose.

"After 90 minutes, I don't think we deserved to lose. The team did what they could, especially in the second half to avoid defeat," he was quoted as saying from Persib's official website on Friday.

Furthermore, Alberts revealed the main factor that made Persib finally fall.

"But in the end we lost focus," he explained.

At the end of his comments, the Dutch coach then promised to improve and galvanize his team's performance again so that they appear optimally in the next match. Albert also did not forget to congratulate Bali United for coming home with a win.

"Of course, no one likes defeat, both Bobotoh (Persib fans) and us. We must be able to turn this result back in the next match,"

The defeat received by Persib added to the length of Maung Bandung's minor record. The reason is, this is the fourth defeat in a row after previously being conquered by Persija Jakarta, Arema FC, and Persebaya.
