Manchester United's New CEO, Richard Arnold Will Determine Ronaldo's Future At Old Trafford

JAKARTA - The future of the superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with Manchester United is now in the hands of Richard Arnold, who is the new CEO of the English giant club.

MU on Thursday, January 6 yesterday officially announced Arnold's name as the club's new boss. He replaces Ed Woodward, who has been in the role of deputy CEO, now absent, for eight years.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this amazing club and its fans. I promise to do everything in my power to make the most of this opportunity," said Arnold on the MU website.

Richard Arnold initially joined United in 2007 and has been managing director since 2013. Through this role, Arnold has the right to oversee all operational and commercial businesses at the club.

Before getting a job in football, he worked in the technology sector as well as at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. It was in this place that Arnold befriended Woodward.

Arnold will start work in the CEO chair starting February 1. As of that date, the Red Devils' household automatically relies heavily on the boss's decisions, especially the appointment of a permanent coach.

Citing the Daily Post, Arnold's decision to choose a new coach will have a big impact on Ronaldo's future. If he doesn't want the former Madrid player to leave, he will be careful to appoint a new name in the coach's chair.

Currently, Manchester United is temporarily managed by Ralf Rangnick, who until now has not made many changes to Ronaldo and his friends. Rangnick takes over as coach after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.

With the appointment of Arnold, Rangnick's position is likely predicted to not last long. Because United is now linked with former Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino, however, recent reports suggest Erik ten Hag is among the favorites.

In addition to those two names, Leicester City boss Brendan Rogers is also on the radar. From these names, Arnold must be wary of which of them can make Ronaldo want to survive.
