National Team Training Camp Ahead Of FIFA Matchday January 19 At The Earliest

JAKARTA - After struggling in the 2020 AFF Cup, the Indonesian national team is again preparing to undergo the FIFA Matchday trial match agenda. Ahead of the agenda, the plan is for the national team to start conducting training camps in the near future.

"The training camp will be held on January 19 at the earliest and January 21 at the latest," said Shin Taeyong in a written statement received by VOI Friday, January 7.

Although the training camp date has been set, Shin Tae-yong said it is still under consideration. Because, there is still an effort to discuss PSSI with the club because the current schedule for domestic competitions is still quite solid.

"For the date of the training camp, we have to wait first, because there is a tight league schedule, so there is still coordination between the league and PSSI, because there is no league on FIFA matchday," he said.

Apart from the training camp plan that was revealed by Shin Tae-yong, previously the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi, gave a leak about the opponents that the national team would face. He said the opponent for the Garuda squad at the end of January was Bangladesh or Brunei Darussalam.

So far, PSSI is still in intensive communication with Bangladesh and Brunei. Yunus said he would most likely fight Bangladesh twice.

"For January, we are still communicating with Bangladesh because Bangladesh wants to come here but plays twice. So if Bangladesh asks for two games, Brunei doesn't," he said.

For the FIFA Matchday trial agenda itself, PSSI has set the location for the event, namely on the island of Bali.
