Juventus Draws Against Napoli, Massimiliano Allegri: We Played In A Hurry

JAKARTA - Massimiliano Allegri is not satisfied with the performance of Juventus, which drew with Napoli. The coach called his team playing in a hurry.

Juventus met Napoli in the 20th week of the Italian League 2021/2022 at the Allianz Stadium. In the match which took place on Friday, January 7, Indonesian Western Time (WIB), the hosts fell behind to a Dries Mertens goal before equalizing through Federico Chiesa in the second half.

In this match the Bianconerri actually have a lot of advantages because Napoli have lost nine players due to COVID-19, injuries, suspensions and assignments in the African Cup of Nations. However, Juventus' performance in this match was less convincing because according to Allegri they played too hastily.

"We had chances to take the lead, but were a bit imprecise and rushed in the final third. We returned to level requirements and then rushed again," said Massimiliano Allegri, quoted by Football Italia.

Furthermore, although Juventus failed to reap full points, Allegri saw the positive side of his team. He admitted that he was quite happy because Juventus could keep pace with Napoli, which had been outstanding since the start of the season.

"We have to look at this positively, as points are earned. I would like to see more calm and focus in the final third, but some of that has to do with the characteristics of the players," said Allegri.

"Napoli had some very good passers, we had some areas where we needed to improve, but overall it was a good performance," he said.

This draw made Juventus not move from fifth place in the Italian League standings with a total of 35 points. Meanwhile for Napoli, this result left them even more behind in the race for the Italian League title, Luciano Spalletti's team is now perched in third place with 40 points.
