Persija Ready To Anticipate The 'Explosion' Of PSIS New Players

JAKARTA - Persija is wary of the "explosion" of new PSIS players ahead of the meeting of the two teams in the 18th match of the Indonesian League 1 2021-2022 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Thursday tomorrow.

"PSIS had a good season and now they have got new players to strengthen the team. We don't know how they will play tomorrow, but of course we respect them," Persija coach Angelo Alessio said in a virtual press conference, quoted by Antara.

Alessio also emphasized that his squad had been prepared to anticipate the PSIS game.

PSIS confirmed the arrival of several new players to strengthen the squad starting from the second round of Liga 1 2021-2022, namely Taufik Hidayat, Rahmad Hidayat and two foreign players namely Flavio Beck Junior and Chevaughn Walsh.

They are already in Bali and ready to graze against Persija.

Persija defender and defensive midfielder Tony Sucipto also predicts that PSIS's performance will be getting worse with its new players.

However, Tony stated that his squad was not too concerned about PSIS and focused on their own squad.

"We want to focus on the game. PSIS has new players, but our new players are also ready to bring Persija to be better," said the 35-year-old footballer.

The 2021-2022 PSIS Indonesian League 1 match against Persija will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Thursday starting at 20.30 WIB.

In the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1 standings, PSIS is in sixth position with a collection of 27 points. Persija is in eighth place with 25 points.

In the first round of Liga 1, the meeting between Persija and PSIS ended in a draw with a score of 2-2.
