Tottenham Vs West Ham 2-1: The Lilywhites Challenged By Chelsea In The League Cup Semifinals

JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur stepped into the League Cup semifinals after beating West Ham which took place on Wednesday local time.

In the quarter-final, London derby which was held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Antonio Conte's men managed to win 2-1 over the Hammers.

All three goals in the match were created in just five minutes.

Tottenham's opener was scored by Steven Bergwijn in the 29th minute using Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's pass.

Three minutes later West Ham responded with the swiftness of Jarrod Bowen saving Nikola Vlasic's shot wide before firing a cross into the home net.

However, Tottenham quickly restored their lead in the 34th minute when Lucas Moura met Bergwijn's cross with a perfect finish.

West Ham actually had several chances to equalize again, including in the third minute of injury time when Andriy Yarmolenko's cross almost scored if it didn't end on the crossbar.

Tottenham's qualification brings the dominance of London clubs in the League Cup semi-finals this season.

Arsenal had already knocked out third-tier side Sunderland a day ago and Chelsea beat Brentford 2-0 in a match played with Spurs.

In the draw for the League Cup semi-finals which was carried out after the match, Spurs were confirmed to meet the Blues.
