JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team has confirmed a place in the semifinals of the AFF Cup 2020. In that round, the national team will face Singapore as the host.

The first leg of the semifinals will take place on Wednesday. In this match, the national team has a great opportunity to get additional strength with the presence of Egy Maulana Vikri who has received permission from his club, FK Senica.

As stated by PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi, Egy departed from Slovakia on Monday, December 20 local time or Tuesday morning Singapore time.

Yunus also ensured that Egy had pocketed an invitation letter to enter Singapore from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) as required by the AFF Cup Committee.

"MTI is out. Tonight (Slovak time) Egy can fly to Singapore," Yunus wrote in a written message received by VOI, Tuesday, December 21.

With an estimated journey of 23 hours, Egy is expected to arrive in Singapore on Wednesday, December 22 in the morning. Arriving in the Lion Country, Egy had to undergo a short quarantine while waiting for the results of the PCR test.

If the test results show the player's condition is fit and healthy, Egy can immediately join his colleagues in the national team.

However, with a short rest period remaining, the decision to start Egy or wait on the bench is still a secret for Shin Tae-yong, the national team coach.
