JAKARTA - Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta insists he will 'welcome' PSG striker Mauro Icardi to move to their Serie A rivals Juventus.
The 28-year-old centre-forward was sold to Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 with a clause limiting his potential return to Italy, precisely because they feared he might try to engineer a move to Turin.
Now that scenario could happen with a possible low-cost loan or transfer in the January transfer window.
"Today, Serie A is not the Eldorado it was in the 1990s, so it's more of a transitional league where we often see quality players move on," Marotta told RAI Sport 90 Minuto programme.
“With that in mind, it is only natural that we welcome the return of an important player to Serie A. However, it is not in my power to comment on Icardi, as he is no longer one of our players and we are very pleased with him our forwards.
"What I can say is that quality players are welcome back in Italy and all Italian football will benefit from that."
Icardi is under contract with PSG until June 2024, but has only managed to score three goals in 18 competitive appearances so far this season.
As for the Inter uniform, the Argentina international scored 124 goals in 219 matches.
