JAKARTA - Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2022 season is ready to roll. This prestigious national basketball competition will be held from January 15 to May 25 and is enlivened by 16 clubs competing for the title.

Information related to the IBL 2022 was conveyed by the Secretary-General of the Central Executive Board of Perbasi, Nirmala Dewi, after attending a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Friday, December 17 afternoon.

"Earlier, we have explained our activities which will be carried out in early 2022. We will start (IBL 2022) on January 15 – May 25, 16 clubs will compete", said Nirmala.

In the coordination meeting, Nirmala Dewi asked for permission so that IBL 2022 could be attended by a limited number of spectators. She tried this because according to her many Indonesian basketball lovers couldn't wait to watch the competition live.

"We are also fighting for the IBL so that the competition can be attended by spectators, because if you see them (the audience) have asked a lot of questions, they may not attend", she said.

"From there, we will coordinate with the government, especially regarding the progress and procedures for the process that will apply", she continued explaining.

Regarding the plan for direct audience attendance, the organizers will later limit about 10-20 percent of the venue's capacity used and follow directions from the government if at any time there are changes related to health protocols.

Furthermore, Nirmala also revealed a scheme for spectators who will attend where later spectators must buy match tickets through an application that is automatically connected to the PeduliLindungi application.

For the IBL 2022 implementation itself, Nirmala said later the competition would be held in six different cities.
