On The Verge Of Relegation And Losing Richarlison, Everton's Catastrophe That Never Ends

JAKARTA - Everton will have to lose their striker Richarlison over the next few weeks due to the Brazilian with a calf injury, the club's official website announced on Wednesday.

Everton manager Rafa Benitez was booed by the fans when he pulled Richarlison off in the first third of the second half of the match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, London, last Sunday.

After the game, Benitez explained that Richarlison had been complaining of pain from his injury since halftime but had insisted on trying to play, although, in the end, he couldn't continue the game.

Everton said the club had carried out further scans on Richarlison and found a tear in his calf muscle.

"The 24-year-old, who has scored three Premier League goals this season, is expected to be sidelined for the next few weeks", read a statement on Everton's official website.

As such, Richarlison is confirmed to be out when Everton travels to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Thursday.

Apart from Richarlison, it is also likely that Everton will be without winger Andros Townsend and captain Seamus Coleman because both of them also suffered injuries after the match against Palace.

Townsend picked up a foot injury after being targeted by an opponent and his condition will be reviewed by specialists following further scans.

Meanwhile, Coleman suffered bone bruising and his condition will continue to be monitored.

The loss of the three names is clearly a challenge for Everton, who have only won once in the last ten matches.

Everton is currently in 14th place in the standings with a collection of 18 points or just seven points from the relegation zone.
