Persija Wins 1-0 From Persikabo, Coach Explains Key To Success

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Angelo Alessio revealed the key to the success of his team's victory against Persikabo. According to the coach, it was because his team managed to process long passes during the game.

Persija Jakarta will face Persikabo in the 15th week of Liga 1 2022 on Friday, December 3, 2021. In the match that took place at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul last night Persija sealed a 1-0 victory through Rohit Chand's single goal.

In that match, Rohit managed to break into the opponent's goal when the match lasted 50 minutes. The Nepalese player scored with his left foot after making a solo run after taking advantage of an opposing player's error.

After the match, Alessio discussed the team's game which tried to maximize the long pass so that it could finally produce three points.

"Regarding long passes, sometimes it's good to do but sometimes not. Persikabo's defense line is filled with players with tall stature so it's actually not a good thing to play long passes," said Angelo Alessio in a statement received by VOI, Saturday 4 December.

"But we changed strategy in the second half when we won the ball. We had to counterattack immediately because Persikabo played more openly."

"Many of their defenders leave their posts quite far, so we rely on long passes. Like Rohit's goal, he wins the ball and scores a goal," added Angelo Alessio.

With the addition of three points from this match, Persija managed to move up to ninth in the standings. The Kemayoran Tigers have 21 points from five wins, six draws, and four defeats.
