Lost By Hong Kong Representative, Praveen/Melati Failed To Semifinals World Tour Finals 2021

JAKARTA - Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti's efforts to advance to the semifinals of the 2021 World Tour Finals tournament had to be dashed. Praveen/Melati lost to Hong Kong representatives, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet.

The meeting of representatives of Indonesia and Hong Kong took place in the third match of the group phase, Friday, December 3. Taking place at the Bali International Convention Centre, Nusa Dua Praveen/Melati gave up after a 30-minute match with the final score of 11-21 and 15-21.

Praveen/Melati have been overwhelmed in the first points by representatives of Hong Kong, they are five points behind in the early game. The Praveen/Melati match to pursue the opponent's advantage continued until the distance was reduced to four to three points.

Slowly Praveen/Melati found the rhythm of the game that kept them excited until the second half of the first two games. Seeing Indonesia's persistence, Man/Suet continued to try to keep their distance and maintain their best performance.

Unfortunately, the Man/Suet attack often gets points due to the imperfect return of Praveen/Melati. An error from Praveen/Melati actually added points to Man/Suet who then won the first game with a score of 21-11.

In the second game, Praveen/Melati tried to turn things around, but they fell behind 9-11 in the first half of the second game. Luckily, after halftime, Praveen/Melati was able to catch up with the score again becoming a draw.

The situation is actually beneficial for Indonesia, but the mistakes that Praveen/Melati often make have actually made the opponent superior. The situation continued to change for both teams, the chase for numbers lasted until the crucial point even belonged to Hong Kong 21-15.

This result made Praveen/Melati eliminated from the WTF 2021 event because they only collected one win in the group phase.

Before losing to Hong Kong, Praveen/Melati first lost to Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai and pocketed one win from the match against Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith.
