JAKARTA - Napoli slipped at the Mapei Stadium in the series of matchday 15 of Serie A, Thursday morning. The Partenopei only drew against Sassuolo.

After the first half ended with no goal, Fabian Ruiz broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, and Dries Mertens doubled Napoli's lead eight minutes later.

Sassuolo first reduced the gap with Gianluca Scamacca's powerful strike in the 71st minute before ending Napoli's victory with Gian Ferrari's goal just before half-time.

The hosts were even able to score their third goal in the fourth minute of injury time through Gregorie Defrel, but the goal was ruled out by VAR.

Luciano Spalletti's men survived defeat and have at least taken home a point from Sassuolo.

Napoli remains top of the table with 38 points, but their lead has been reduced to just three points over Milan, who beat Genoa 3-0, while Sassuolo is not moving from 12th on 18 points.
