Defeat Compatriots And Secure Top 8 Of Indonesia Open, Greysia/Apriyani: Whoever The Opponent Is, We Always Want To Win

JAKARTA - The women's doubles badminton players Greysia Polii/Ariyani Rahayu managed to win over another Indonesian representative, Fitriani/Yulia Yosephine Susanto. Despite facing compatriots, Greysia/Apriyani are always determined to win.

Greysia/Apriyani beat Fitriani/Yulia in the last 16 of the Indonesia Open at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua. In the match which took place on Thursday, November 25, Greysia/Apriyani won straight games 21-10 and 21-15.

Facing their juniors, Greysia/Apriyani revealed that their opponents who usually appear in the women's singles sector are quite capable. Even so, Greysia/Apriyani also did not want to lose and emphasized that they always wanted to win every match.

"Indeed, we always want to show the best in the field," said Greysia in a written statement received by VOI.

"They also prepare the best. However, whoever the opponent is, we want to always be able to win the match," continued Greysia Polii.

Qualifying for the last eight, Greysia is determined to be able to secure the title with Apriyani. Because so far he has appeared at the Indonesia Open, his best achievement is being runner up in the 2015 edition when he was still paired with Nitya Krishinda Maheswari.

"I have played at the Indonesia Open several times and the best achievement was in the final," said Greysia.

"What we always instill as long as there is still a chance is to try again to become champions at home," he said.

After defeating Fitriani/Yulia in the round of 16, Greysia/Apriyani will face the winner between Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi and Mayu Matsumoto/Ayako Sakuramoto in the last eight.
