JAKARTA - English Premier League club, Norwich City announced a new logo that will be used starting next season, to be exact on June 17, 2022.

In general, the composition of the logo remains the same, namely a canary on a ball, a castle and a lion on a shield.

However, the latest Norwich logo presents a more minimalistic design by eliminating the black stripes for each symbol inside the shield.

In addition, the black border is also no longer used to wrap the main logo shield.

Norwich's latest logo design, commissioned by digital agency SomeOne, also places the ball with the canary perched further into the center of the shield to create balance.

"For the first time in 50 years the club will adopt a changed logo, for the sake of digital, iconic, and most importantly accessible to everyone," Norwich commercial director Sam Jeffrey said on the club's official website.

"This is a two-year project and we are treating it very sensitively and with great care," he added.

Norwich certainly hopes to use its new logo to continue competing in the English Premier League, considering they are currently in danger of competing to avoid the threat of relegation.

After appointing Dean Smith as the new coach to replace Daniel Farke, Norwich picked up their second win of the season last weekend and are 19th in the standings with eight points.
