Beat Besiktas 2-1, Ajax Comfortable At The Top Of Group C

JAKARTA - Ajax Amsterdam managed to win 2-1 over the host team Besiktas in the Champions League Group C match at the Vodafone Park Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday morning.

According to Antara, two Ajax goals were bought by Sebastian Haller, while Besiktas' only goal was scored by Rachid Ghezzal.

Ajax itself has made sure to qualify for the round of 16 and this victory makes them more comfortable at the top of the standings with 15 points.

Meanwhile, Besiktas have certainly been eliminated from the Champions League after sitting at the bottom of the table with only one point from five matches.

Even though they had already qualified for the next round, Ajax continued to play attacking in this match.

Ajax had several dangerous opportunities through Daramy, Neres, and Tadic. However, Besiktas goalkeeper Mert Gunok managed to fend off attacks from Erik ten Haag's men.

Besiktas rely more on the counter-attack to the Ajax defense, which plays attacking.

However, it was Besiktas who managed to score first in the 21st minute.

Starting from a corner kick, the ball hit the hand of Ajax defender Mazraoui. The referee awarded a penalty to Besiktas after viewing the VAR footage. Ghezzal who became the executioner successfully carried out his duties and brought the hosts 1-0 up.

In the 69th minute, Ajax scored another goal through Haller. Starting from a free-kick, Martinez received the ball and fired a shot that hit the Besiktas players.

The ball that fell on Haller was kicked straight into the Besiktas' goal. Ajax turned 2-1 ahead.

Until the second half ended, Ajax's 2-1 advantage remained.
