Ahead Of Indonesia Vs Myanmar, Shin Tae-yong: Learn From The Match Against Afghanistan, We Need To Improve Our Game

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will undergo a trial match against Myanmar on Thursday tomorrow. Ahead of the second trial, Shin Tae-yong underlined the team's weaknesses that must be improved.

The South Korean coach took valuable lessons from the previous match against Afghanistan. Even though he lost, Shin Tae-yong noted a point that his team had to improve, which was that they often made their own mistakes and needed to improve their game.

"So, some things I learned through the match against Afghanistan, so during the match we made a lot of mistakes from ourselves," said Shin Tae-yong, quoted by VOI from Indonesian Football Association's (PSSI) official website, Wednesday, November 24.

In the match against Afghanistan, the Garuda squad was forced to submit with a narrow score of 0-1. Nevertheless, Shin Tae-yong learned a good lesson to see the team's weaknesses.

From there, he was determined to improve the team's performance so that they could perform better against Myanmar. The thing that the coach emphasized the most was so that the players did not waste opportunities.

"So, for the next game we have to improve our game, so we have to reduce the mistakes we made," said the coach.

"Moreover, in the first half (against Afghanistan) there was actually an opportunity or opportunity to score a goal but we couldn't, in the end, our score was the same until the last minute. So I always remind the players so that if they get a chance they must be able to score," he said.

The trial match against Myanmar will be the second agenda of the Indonesian national team trial before appearing in the 2020 AFF Cup in December. This trial will take place at Gloria Stadium, Antalya, Turkey.

Ahead of this meeting, both the Indonesian and Myanmar national teams reaped minor results because they lost in the previous match.

But this did not make Shin Tae-Yong afraid, because if you look at the head to head, the national team is clearly superior even though the Garuda squad lost to the FIFA ranking position from Myanmar.
