After A 3-Day Quarantine In Jakarta, The Mandalika WSBK Crew And Racers Arrive In Lombok

JAKARTA - Crews and racers at the World Superbike (WSBK) event which will take place at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara this weekend, are starting to arrive.

"Yes, the WSBK crew and drivers are starting to arrive at Lombok Airport," said Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I at Lombok International Airport, Arif Haryanto in Praya, Wednesday, as reported by Antara.

The crew and riders arrived in Lombok after previously being quarantined in Jakarta for 3 days in accordance with the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol.

"Their information came in waves," he said.

Of the several teams that will compete at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, only two teams have arrived, namely the Yamaha and Ducati teams. After finishing the health check at Lombok Airport, they went straight to the inn.

"Just the Yamaha and Ducati Teams that came, other teams came gradually," he said.

Previously, the Director of Strategic and Communication of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) Happy K Harinto di Praya said that hundreds of crew and racers will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, have arrived in Indonesia.

"A total of 640 IATC and WSBK crews and riders have entered Indonesia," he said.

He said that hundreds of crew and riders at the motor racing event are currently still quarantined in Jakarta for three days. Furthermore, after being quarantined and being declared negative for the COVID-19 test result, they were then taken to fly to Lombok airport in waves.

"After finishing the new quarantine they headed to Lombok and came in waves. Before the race they had arrived in Lombok," he said.

Meanwhile, for the logistical needs of the motor racing event, it arrived at Lombok Airport using a Boeing 777 Freighter cargo plane belonging to Qatar Airways which flies directly from Doha.

"Liquid logistics will be carried through water transportation routes," said Happy.
